Confessions of a slow blogger

It has been a while since I have written. So much as happened! I have moved home...then moved into an apartment in Kalamazoo with Ashley. I have a job at Family Video as a manager in training. So things are looking up for Nahro and I! He leaves in a week to go visit his family before he moves over. I start my training tomorrow. I am so excited!! I have so many emotions going on! I have my job (yay!!) and Nahro is heading to Iraq (yucky). So now that I am settled I hope to be on here more! I will keep you all updated on my training and Nahro's visa process. Also pray for Nahro as he is in Iraq (I realize he will be in the northern part which is not as scary, but I am worried none the less) Have a good week!

P.S. Last night Ash and I went to see New Kids on the Block (Woo Woo!!!) It was AWESOME...once again!

Boredom...it never evades me

So Nahro is again at work at night (2:00pm-10:30pm, which means he leaves at 1:30 only to return at 11) I have to keep myself busy for that time and am not fairing so well. With all this time on my hands I keep thinking how I have to move, and leave my husband, in two weeks and get a job. It is driving me absolutely crazy! My mom tells me to pray about it...I do and instantly feel calmer...for 15 minutes. I realize I am going to miss England, though I simply refuse to live here again!

I have discovered, while at the grocery store, that I was completely under dressed. I like going out with out makeup on. Well going anywhere requires much effort to look good here. Not that it bothers me, its I have figured out I am most definitely American! I am sure not many Brits were glued to their tellies (as they call it) yesterday to watch a presidential inauguration. Look at me I am rambling. That's what happens when there is no one here to talk to. UNfortunatly I still have 2 1/2 hours of torture left! At least with all this free time I am getting a few job applications done on-line! Well I should do dishes! If you all could pray for me while I try and figure out my new situation I would greatly appericate it.

Have a good day!

You've got The Right Stuff

So I know I have written in a month...and there was A LOT going on, but my story today is about my totally awesome night last night.

I was feeling a little sleepy on the ride down and Nahro kept telling me that I didn't have to go. Is he crazy?!?! So it began to rain as I jumped out of the car (I should mention that I dropped my phone on the floor waiting for an angry return text from Ash) anyway I jumped out into the rain and into the National Indoor Areana (the NIA) once I got inside I realized that Nahro failed to give me my money...and I forgot to get my phone...on the floor of the car! Ugh! I sat in my seat (on the floor section) and debated what to do. I finally found a pay phone and called Nahro to return with my phone and some money. I had to wait 15 minutes in the rain for him. Not just any rain either it was blowing and cold. I was only wearing a light (super dee duper) light jacket. Once I hauled my cold and dripping body back into the areana I returned to my seat to wait for the opening act Chantelle. She sounded a lot like Rihanna (She is from Barbados as well).

As I was sitting there waiting I was begginging to feel a little sad that Nahro didn't come with me. Then the lights went down and I bagan to join in the thousands of other women screaming, they were my age-ish(really there weren't many kids there men were pretty non exsistant as well!) I was suddenly glad that no one was there to witness that. I was screaming like I was ten again and I don't think I couldn't let anyone I know see me like that, except my sisters...but they are just as crazy as me! In the middle they came to the center of the areana and I was like less than 50 feeet from them! My dreams came true! IT WAS AWESOME.

After the concert I once again had to sit in the rain. This time I was nearly there fro 30 minutes. I was riding on a high the whole way home...even though I was soaked to the bone. Thank heavens for my husband! I hope you enjoy the pictures!

The Areana where the concert was The opening song..."Single"
I just thought the photo was cool...though it is blurry
Yeah I was this close...how cool am I!

Have an awesome day!

2 Days Left!!!

There are only two days until Nahro and I head to the USA! Woo Hoo. Two days ago we celebrated our second wedding anniversary. We had a nice (quiet...no stupid phones ringing) time. We watched Ghost Hunters and National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation (for a Muslim he is starting to dig all things Christmasy..including the music!) We couldn't decide on a film (I was talked out of Madagascar 2 by Ash) so we ended up at "The Day the Earth Stood Still". I liked it...I think Nahro was hoping for more. I am not sure more of what though. We finished out the night with the finals to the X factor (Alexandra won!!!!) Wow after go over what we did we sure do sound old!
I am so thankful that I met and got to fall in love with him. Sure he can grate my last nerve but he can also say some of the most magical, wonderful, sweet things when I least expect it. Initially I had wanted to get married in the spring with tulips and warm weather, but then I realized that being married so close to Christmas is good. I love this time of the year and the feeling of it. I think it was perfect. Now I am rambling! I will leave you with a picture of us on our anniversary (it took about 20 pictures to get a decent one!)

Next year this will be in front of my pandas!
HAve a good day...see you in 2 days!

Two bits of news

First order of business...Nahro and I leave in a week to come home for Christmas. I love Christmas and love being with my large fun family then. I can't wait to hug my kids. I wonder if I will be able to hug them all at once? I only have 1 full present to buy and a few bits of another (pretty good if I do say so myself...since I am in another country!) I already have most of our bags packed. There are going to be FOUR of them! That, however, brings me to my next point. I am moving back to America in February. Nahro and I have decided that we need to be home sooner than later. So I am coming ahead of him to set up shop so to speak and start moving on his visa (very important for entry into the country) . I am excited to get to be back in a land that I can drive...and I know where things are located in grocery stores. I know that Derby will always have a special place for me...but am so glad to be home. I am mostly going to miss my husband. We have been apart before but, this IS the last time. I am excited for our future and hope that the visa god is smiling on us for a fast visa process! So I will talk to on the eve of our departure.

The Country of England Came to a Halt...

...because of an inch of snow! It was a very welcome site to me. Mostly cause I love the stuff (only before and right on Christmas day...after that it can go away!) I had been told by several Brits that their 10 minute drive took them 45! I mean we are not looking at northern Michigan snow. Most of the snow was melted soon after it fell. I still was happy and managed to get a few pictures of it. Nahro told me I was crazy cause I just happened to have our camera in my purse! Here is some of the white stuff in Derby...

Yes this is all the snow there was...and that made commutes longer!

I haven't figured out why Nahro needed me to take this picture...but here it is
This was today...the day after the "big" snow

Derby does have an open air ice skating rink...Pretty cool huh!

Have a good day!
